Fire Clay Bricks And Uses

What Is Fire Clay -

Fire clay is a term applied to a range of refractory clays used in the manufacture of any type of Refractory products. A fire clay can withstand a high temperature. If a (clay) material withstands a minimum temperature of 1515°C then it is referred as a "fire clay". All refractory are based on fire clay which contains alumina and silica within it.

Containing low iron within fire clay makes fire clay brick preferable for textile mills and pulp industries where processing chemicals can leach iron from the brick and cause color contamination.
