Application and Scope of Fire Clay in Industry

Fire Clay is a kind of clay which is used in making of refractory products. Refractory made using fire clay is stable at high temperature and resistant sudden heating and cooling.

Fire clay is mainly used in metallurgical industries as raw material used in production of shaped refractories.  It is also used in making of high alumina brick and high alumina melting bricks which is mainly used in glass melting and cements manufacturer units.

Ability to withstand high temperatures it the known merit of refractory materials and that is why high alumina bricks are considered as ideal for various applications in industries. Along with the ability to withstand high temperatures refractory bricks have very good thermal shock resistance and a high insulating value. Fire clay or Refractory products are classified on the bases of chemical composition.
